PIPI (3 MONTHS – 2 YEARS)

PIPI PROGRAMME

Babies have their own area dedicated to their specific needs.  Their play space and sleep room is separate from those of the older children allowing them to experience a calm and age-appropriate environment.

Each child has a primary care-giver, that special someone to bond with and ensure their essential needs are met and that they receive quality routine care.

The programme puts an emphasis on self-expression and the children have many opportunities to participate in music and movement, art activities and messy play.

Language is an essential element of the Pipi programme and the children are encouraged to use this daily.

A range of physical experiences are set up each day to enhance the children’s physical development.

The  Periwinkle Group

The Periwinkle group is for our oldest children, it’s purpose is to support the children in their transition to the Paua centre. We want transitions between centres to be as smooth and positive as possible.

The Periwinkle group visit the Paua centre each day between 10.30am  and 11.30am. These visits give plenty of opportunities to become familar with the teachers, children and enviroment of the Paua centre.

At 11.30am the group go to our main dining room for lunch, to familarise themselves with this environment too.

They then return to the Pipi centre, to spend the rest of the day with the Pipi centre children and teachers.

PIPI TEACHERS

A 2:7 teaching ratio in our babies area and a 1:4 ratio with our toddlers allows for high quality interactions.
